While Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge is already gaining attention, Apple is preparing to make its mark with the upcoming iPhone 17 Air.
Touted as Apple’s slimmest phone ever, the iPhone 17 Air will reportedly feature a sleek titanium frame and an ultra-thin 5.5mm body. Leaked designs show a horizontal, bridge-style camera bar similar to the Google Pixel and a newly added “Camera Control” button.
“Apple is likely moving to eSIM only and is likely to move the USB-C port to the bottom of the frame.” Despite its minimalist design, the phone is said to include a 4mm camera bump and only a single 48MP lens—ideal for portrait shots but not appealing to ultra-wide users.
One of the most anticipated features is the 6.6-inch ProMotion OLED display with a variable refresh rate, which promises smooth performance while conserving battery life. The device is also expected to pack the powerful A19 chip and up to 12GB RAM, potentially surpassing even the Pro models.
On the software side, the iPhone 17 Air will run iOS 26 with features like Liquid Glass UI, Live Translation, and enhanced CarPlay. Advanced connectivity through Apple’s own C1 modem and Wi-Fi 7 support may also mark a shift away from Broadcom.
However, battery life could be the biggest drawback. Despite using silicon-anode battery tech for a 20% efficiency boost, the small 2800 mAh battery may not last through the day for heavy users.
In summary, the iPhone 17 Air looks like a breakthrough in design and performance—but battery limitations might hold it back for power users.
