A 32-year-old man named Jerdaine Foster has been arrested by Hamilton Police in Niagara Falls, Canada, for the murder of Indian student Harsimrat Randhawa. Foster fired the bullet that killed Harsimrat in Ontario.

Who is Jerdaine Foster?

According to police, Jerdaine Foster has been charged with first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder. Reports say he has connections to the Halton, Hamilton, and Niagara regions, and often stayed in short-term rental properties. The investigation is still ongoing.

Police also revealed that the violent clash began several minutes before it ended with the deadly shooting at a bus stop.

Who Was Harsimrat Randhawa?

Harsimrat Randhawa was a 21-year-old Indian medical student from Dhundha village in Punjab. She was in her second year of studying physiotherapy at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario.

On the day of her death, Harsimrat had just stepped off a bus while returning home from the gym. Tragically, she was hit by a stray bullet near a bus stop in Ontario.

Police confirmed she was an innocent bystander. Hamilton Police Acting Det.-Sgt. Daryl Reid said, “Harsimrat was an innocent bystander, simply trying to make her way home from a local gym when she was struck and killed.”
