Faysal Quraishi Responds Strongly to Raaja Rani Criticism

Renowned actor Faysal Quraishi has come forward to defend his drama Raaja Rani after facing strong backlash from viewers and even some industry colleagues. In the drama, Quraishi portrays a character who transforms from living with a mental illness, caused by an accident, into a middle-aged tycoon. Despite his powerful performance, the show initially drew criticism, largely due to the casting of newcomer Hina Afridi as the lead opposite him, raising concerns about the noticeable age gap.

Speaking with Nadia Khan, Quraishi previously addressed the age-shaming remarks directed at him. Recently, in an interview with The Current, he expressed stronger sentiments, openly confronting critics who questioned the project and his role in it.

Quraishi stated that now audiences who have watched the drama understand the story, but he observed how some people start criticizing plays without reason. He added that critics often engage in age-shaming, body-shaming, and trolling, despite frequently preaching against bullying.

In response to this behavior, the actor used harsh words, calling such critics “lurkay hue lotay” — people who can sway in any direction.

Through his firm stance, Faysal Quraishi has made it clear that he stands by his work and will not be deterred by unfair criticism.
