PAF Day Being Observed Nationwide to Commemorate Remarkable 1965 Aerial Battle
The Pakistan Air Force Day is being observed across the country today in remembrance of the aerial battle fought on September 7, 1965.
On September 7, 1965, the falcons of the Pakistan Air Force wrote a glorious chapter of courage and bravery. The young men of the PAF crushed the enemy’s evil ambitions with valor, a feat the nation takes pride in.
This is the memorable day when, through skill and gallantry, the brave-hearted airmen of the PAF secured victory for Pakistan in the 1965 Pakistan-India war.
During the war of 1965, M.M. Alam set an everlasting example of courage and bravery in the Pakistan-India conflict.
Through his extraordinary flying skills, Squadron Leader M.M. Alam forced the enemy to its knees by shooting down five Indian warplanes in less than a minute.
This achievement is considered a golden chapter in the history of the Pakistan Air Force and is regarded as nothing short of a miracle.
PM’s Tribute to the PAF
In his message on Air Force Day, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the PAF, saying that he takes pride in how the PAF has established its dominance in aerial combat. The PAF’s indomitable, multi-dimensional combat capabilities are proof of its modern strength.
He said the PAF has demonstrated that the enemy can never defeat true spirit and resolve.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif added that the PAF played a decisive role in the Battle of Right versus Wrong (“Makah e Haq Bunyān Marsūs”). By defeating the enemy on all fronts, the PAF stunned the world.
It should be noted that today, tribute is also being paid to the PAF’s martyred Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas, the recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider.
