ISLAMABAD: Air Force Day is being observed across the country today (September 7) to mark the historic aerial battle fought during the 1965 war. The central ceremony was held at Air Headquarters, Islamabad, where Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu was the chief guest.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that Martyrs’ Day of the Pakistan Air Force is being observed at all PAF bases with solemnity and respect. The day began with Quran recitation for the souls of the martyrs, followed by special prayers for those who laid down their lives in the 1965 and 1971 wars and for all who sacrificed themselves for the country.

“Martyrs’ Day is a symbol of sacrifice, courage, and professional excellence,” said Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar. “The Pakistan Air Force remains fully committed to its mission amidst rapidly changing security challenges,” he added.

“Victories in Operation Marg-e-Haq and Bunyan Marsous are proof of the PAF’s capabilities and resolve,” said the Air Chief. “The sacrifices of martyrs are a guiding light for future generations,” he emphasized. “We are indebted to our martyrs, and their sacrifices will always be remembered,” said the Air Chief.

The Air Chief expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people and declared their struggle for the right to self-determination as just and legitimate.

At the conclusion of his address, the Air Chief reaffirmed his commitment to contribute in every possible way to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.

The Air Chief said that the Air Force will further enhance its capabilities in the domains of space, electronic warfare, and cyber technologies. After the ceremony, the Chief of the Air Staff laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument.
