PTI Revokes Membership of 12 GB Assembly Members, Including CM Haji Ghulam Bilal Khan
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has terminated the basic membership of 12 members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, including Chief Minister Haji Ghulam Bilal Khan.
The Additional Secretary-General of PTI issued a notification confirming the move, while the party also posted the photos of the affected members on its official social media accounts.
According to the notification, the membership revocations were due to violations of party policy, formation of a forward block, and voting against the party.
The members whose basic PTI membership has been terminated include Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Haji Ghulam Bilal Khan, Shams-ul-Haq Lone, Raja Azam, Abdul Hameed, Amjad Zaidi, Haji Shah Baig, Surya Zaman, Raja Nasir Maqpoon, GB Assembly member Mushtaq Ahmed, Dilshad Bano, and Fazal Rahim.
In a related development, former Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon has been issued a show-cause notice.
Furthermore, the notification prohibits the affected GB Assembly members from using the PTI party name, flag, or any official position.
