Tyler Robinson grew up in a large $600,000 six-bedroom home in Washington, Utah with his parents, Matt and Amber Robinson, and his two younger brothers. His mother and grandmother, Debbie Robinson, frequently shared photos of the three brothers together on Facebook.

In one picture of the siblings posing near a waterfall, Debbie proudly wrote: “How lucky I am to have such handsome grandsons.” The photos show a typical, smiling family, making the accusations against Tyler even more shocking to those who knew them.

Neighbors described the Robinson family as hardworking and respectful. Kristin Schwiermann, 66, said Tyler was “very respectful and quiet” and came from “a very loving family.”

From Happy Family Photos to Public Outrage

Since Tyler’s arrest, the Robinson family’s social media pages have been flooded with angry comments. Many old family photos showing Tyler and his brothers have been targeted by strangers online.

Some posts that once showed happy childhood memories are now filled with messages like “Learn how to parent and maybe your son wouldn’t have done that.” Others left cruel remarks under family vacation pictures, turning what were once proud memories into a source of online backlash.

Alongside wholesome family photos, there are also images of Tyler and his brothers at gun ranges and military events. In some, their mother Amber can be seen holding army machine guns.

One old post showed Tyler in a Donald Trump Halloween costume in 2017, reflecting the family’s strong Republican ties. Photos also show the Robinson brothers handling heavy weapons, including an M2 Browning .50-calibre machine gun, a scoped rifle, and even a bazooka during events.

Tyler attended Utah State University for one semester in 2021 before dropping out. He later enrolled in an electrical apprenticeship program at Dixie Technical College. His mother once wrote online that she hoped he would choose a Utah college and stay close to her, calling him her “man child.”

The contrast between these family hopes and the current accusations highlights the tragic turn in Tyler’s life.

Arrest and Confession

Robinson was taken into custody in southern Utah after his father recognized him in FBI surveillance images. With the help of a youth pastor, Matt Robinson persuaded his son to surrender to authorities.

Former President Donald Trump has since called for Robinson to face the death penalty if found guilty.
