Xiaomi 17 Series Launch Confirmed, Pro Max Design With Rear Display Teased

Xiaomi has officially confirmed the launch of its 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max smartphones later this month in China, skipping the number 16 in a move that brings its naming strategy closer to Apple.

The biggest spotlight is on the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, as the company revealed its rear design featuring the much-discussed secondary display. The design aligns with earlier leaks and rumors, adding weight to previous reports. Interestingly, the image briefly appeared on Xiaomi’s official Weibo account before being removed, leaving many to wonder whether it was an intentional teaser or an accidental leak.

All three models in the lineup are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a chipset that was recently confirmed following weeks of speculation. While the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Pro are likely to share a similar size, the Pro model is expected to come with camera and display upgrades. Meanwhile, the 17 Pro Max will serve as a larger version of the Pro, mirroring Apple’s “Max” strategy.
