PM Seeks Equal-Footing Dialogue with India, Calls Overseas Pakistanis ‘True Ambassadors’
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing a gathering of overseas Pakistanis, praised their hard work and dedication, saying they are “true ambassadors of Pakistan” around the world. He acknowledged their major contribution to the country’s economy, stating that overseas Pakistanis sent home $38 billion in remittances last year.
“I want to sincerely thank you for earning halal income through hard work and supporting your homeland,” he said, addressing the audience with appreciation.
Speaking about regional tensions, the Prime Minister firmly denied any involvement of Pakistan in the Pahalgam incident in India. He announced the formation of an international committee to investigate the matter and reiterated that Pakistan had repeatedly offered transparent investigations, which India ignored.
Instead, he said, India attacked Pakistan on May 6, resulting in the martyrdom of 54 innocent civilians, including attacks on mosques and civilian infrastructure. In response, Pakistan’s Air Force “brought down enemy aircraft” in a swift and strong retaliation, showing that “the enemy quickly realized the consequences of their actions.”
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan seeks peaceful relations with India, but only on the basis of equality and justice. He made it clear that no progress in ties with India is possible without resolving the Kashmir issue.
“The blood of Kashmiris will not go in vain,” he declared, reaffirming Pakistan’s support for the people of Kashmir.
He also expressed concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, condemning the ongoing violence and the killing of thousands of innocent people, including women and children.
The Prime Minister’s speech was a blend of gratitude toward overseas Pakistanis and a strong message of peace with dignity, backed by justice both at home and abroad.
