FO Engages Globally to Ensure Senator Mushtaq, All Pakistanis’ Safe Return

Islamabad: Pakistani Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, who was part of the Global Solidarity Flotilla carrying aid to Gaza, is still in Israeli custody, according to Pakistan’s Foreign Office.

In an official statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that Pakistan is in contact with international partners to ensure the safety and early return of all Pakistani citizens on board the flotilla.

Diplomatic sources from a friendly European country confirmed that Mushtaq Ahmad is safe and currently being held by Israeli occupying forces.

As per local Israeli law, he will be presented in court, and once the court issues a deportation order, arrangements for his immediate return will be made, the spokesperson added.

The Foreign Office also confirmed that Pakistan has helped ensure the safe return of other Pakistani citizens who had earlier disembarked from the flotilla.

Pakistan has expressed gratitude to friendly countries that supported the repatriation of its citizens involved in the aid mission.
