Karachi Mayor Urges Punjab Government to Focus on Work, Not Criticism

05 October, 2025 15:46

Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab spoke to the media about Karachi’s development and recent political issues. He assured, “We will restore the lights of Karachi.” He also stressed the need to strongly respond to negative propaganda against the city.

Addressing the Punjab government, the mayor said the Chief Minister should focus on work and not get distracted by political statements. He mentioned that the Punjab government is under pressure and urged them to concentrate on the flood relief efforts, saying, “There has been a natural disaster in Punjab; they should work instead of attacking others.”

Mayor Wahab confirmed that developmental work is ongoing in Karachi and appealed to everyone to stop criticizing and instead help flood victims. He said he is ready for a debate with the Punjab government on these issues.

Regarding the electricity crisis, he blamed the previous PML-N government, stating, “The expensive electricity problems are because of the PML-N government.” He warned that if this issue is discussed, it could lead to far-reaching consequences.

He also advised Punjab leadership to avoid making unnecessary statements and called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to address the ongoing issues. Additionally, he noted that Bilawal Bhutto has not yet responded to Maryam Nawaz’s statements.
