Why Was Pooh Shiesty in Prison? Video of His Release Sparks Reactions Online

Rapper Pooh Shiesty has reportedly been released from prison three years after his sentencing. The allegations against him were connected to an incident where two people were shot and injured, as reported by Variety.

The news of his release was first shared by DJ Akademiks on Tuesday, October 7, through his Instagram account. He posted a video showing the rapper entering a restaurant while being filmed by another individual. A second clip showed Pooh Shiesty wearing a black T-shirt and some jewelry.

In August, the Memphis native made headlines after addressing his fans in a social media post, which has since been deleted. According to Billboard, he shared several photos and wrote:

“Aye mane say man that’s how you walk that lil down. [Shout-out] all the ones that counted me down and out, the support and love I received on this roller-coaster is unmatched, S/O to the good men I stomped the yard with like Chris Brown.”

Also known as Lontrell Donell Williams Jr., the rapper gave a shout-out to artists he considers trustworthy. He also delivered a message to his followers, saying:

“Dear streets, use me as an example of what ‘keeping it solid and standing on wax’ look like. Now nobody can fool you or tell you different, Ain never going, Ain never went! I stamp it! Im rich as I ever been lit as I ever been! If youm feel me kill me!”

Pooh Shiesty’s Legal Background

Pooh Shiesty’s legal troubles began around five years ago. He was first arrested in connection with a shooting incident but was released shortly after. He was later arrested again the following year for another alleged shooting case, this time at a strip club, according to Variety.

In 2022, the rapper was sentenced to five years and three months in prison on charges related to a shooting in October 2020 at the Landon Hotel in Florida. As Billboard reported, Pooh and two others had gone to the hotel to purchase marijuana and a pair of sneakers when gunfire erupted.

The victims survived the attack, and Pooh Shiesty faced multiple charges, including firearm possession, discharge, and robbery.
