Talal Chaudhry Condemns TLP Protest, Supports Gaza Peace Agreement

Islamabad: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry held an important press conference addressing recent protests by the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP). He stated that instead of peaceful protests, the TLP is spreading unrest and violence across the country.

Talal Chaudhry made it clear that the state will not be blackmailed by any group or faction. While peaceful protests are a right for all, causing chaos and destruction will not be tolerated. He emphasized that there is no room for politics based on pressure groups or unlawful demands.

The minister reminded that TLP’s past actions include attacks on national property with the help of violent groups. He condemned the destruction of Safe City Project cameras and incidents of firing in the air during the protests. Several violent protesters have been arrested, and more than a dozen police and Rangers personnel were injured in clashes.

Talal Chaudhry also highlighted that the protesters showed disrespect to the sanctity of mosques during their violent actions.

On a positive note, he spoke about the Gaza peace agreement, saying Palestinians are celebrating the historic deal with gratitude and joy. He expressed surprise at the TLP’s protests against this peace agreement. The minister praised Prime Minister’s efforts in raising Palestine’s cause strongly on global platforms and stated that Pakistan has brought international attention to the Gaza situation in a powerful way.
