Former MWL Secretary General Abdullah Naseef Passes Away in Jeddah
Dr. Abdullah bin Omar bin Muhammad Naseef, former Secretary General of the Muslim World League and former Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, has passed away in Jeddah after a prolonged illness, according to national media reports.
A highly respected figure in the Islamic world, Dr. Naseef’s contributions to promoting Islamic education, dialogue, and interfaith harmony were widely recognized.
Officials confirmed that his funeral prayer will be offered today, Sunday, at Al-Juffali Mosque in Jeddah, followed by burial at Asad Cemetery. A condolence gathering for men and women is being held for three days from Maghrib to Isha at his residence in Al-Khuzami Towers, Jeddah.
Founded in 1962, the Muslim World League is headquartered in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Its founders included prominent religious scholars and leaders from various countries. The organization aims to foster unity and cooperation among Muslim nations, spread the message of Islam, counter misguided ideologies, and provide assistance to Muslim and non-Muslim countries.
Dr. Naseef’s passing marks the loss of a prominent leader who dedicated his life to the advancement of Islamic knowledge and international cooperation.
