Maryam Nawaz Orders Crackdown After Kite String Death
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of a young man caused by a kite string in Lahore. She extended condolences to the grieving family of 21-year-old Nauman Yousaf, who lost his life in a kite-flying incident.
According to police, the incident occurred in the Nawan Kot area, where Nauman, a resident of Mozang, was returning home on his motorcycle when a sharp kite string (dohr) cut his neck. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he died on the way.
Hospital sources confirmed that Nauman’s neck was severely injured by the string. He worked as a medical sales representative and was the eldest son and sole breadwinner of his family. He is survived by a younger brother and two sisters.
CM Maryam Nawaz expressed grief and anger over the illegal kite-flying activity and directed officials to take immediate action against those responsible. She also demanded a detailed report from the CCPO Lahore.
The Chief Minister stressed that such negligence would not be tolerated and called for stricter enforcement to prevent further tragedies caused by illegal kite-flying.
