Pakistan, UK, US Discuss Security, Anti-Drug Cooperation
ISLAMABAD — Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held separate meetings with the British High Commissioner and the Acting US Ambassador to discuss enhancing cooperation in counter-narcotics, human trafficking, and security.
Naqvi expressed gratitude to the British government for launching air operations in Pakistan and highlighted the importance of initiatives like the Center of Excellence, which will strengthen institutional capacity and bilateral ties.
Both the British and US diplomats praised the Pakistan Navy’s role in anti-drug operations. The British High Commissioner informed Naqvi about the upcoming visit of the NCA Director General next month, during which several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) across different sectors are expected to be signed.
Naqvi emphasized that such projects are key to improving capabilities and will further strengthen Pakistan’s relations with the UK and US, while the British High Commissioner reaffirmed the importance of maintaining strong ties with Pakistan.
