Who Is Hannah Grubbs? Influencer Slammed for Complaining About Hurricane Melissa During Jamaica Trip
Travel influencer Hannah Grubbs is facing major backlash after posting several TikTok videos complaining about Hurricane Melissa “ruining her vacation” in Jamaica. The influencer’s comments, seen by thousands, sparked anger online as the Caribbean nation struggled through the Category 5 storm.
The Viral TikTok That Sparked Backlash
The controversy began on Friday, October 24, when Hannah shared a TikTok video showing her relaxing at a resort. The video’s text read: “On vacation in Jamaica during Hurricane Melissa.”
She later deleted the post after receiving criticism, according to The Independent.
In another video, Hannah joked that she was “pretending there’s not a category 5 hurricane about to hit Jamaica.” The clip showed a bartender serving drinks while strong winds blew across the resort. Viewers quickly called her out for being insensitive during a dangerous natural disaster.
She also uploaded another video from her hotel balcony, writing: “Hurricane Melissa out here messing with my vacation.” That clip was widely shared and criticized on X (formerly Twitter).
