“JD’s Stepping Out on Usha?”: Viral Clip of JD Vance & Erika Kirk’s Inappropriate Moment at TPUSA Event Triggers Online Debate

31 October, 2025 14:31

Vice President JD Vance’s recent appearance at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi on October 29, 2025, has ignited a social media uproar. The event was attended by Erika Kirk, the current CEO of the right-wing organization and widow of its founder, Charlie Kirk.

A brief clip of Vance and Erika Kirk from the event has gone viral, drawing widespread attention and criticism. In the video, Kirk greets the Vice President on stage with a hug, during which she runs her hand through his hair while Vance keeps his hands on her waist.

The interaction, reuploaded on X (formerly Twitter), prompted speculation and backlash. Many users called the gesture inappropriate, questioning the nature of their relationship. One user, @nanashebao816, wrote, “Looks like JD’s stepping out on Usha?” — implying infidelity toward Vance’s wife, Usha.

Another user, @kimwwink, described the hug as “uncomfortable,” while others argued that such physical closeness between friends was unusual. One viral comment read, “The sexual tension is palpable. As a woman, there’s only ONE THING that hand placement means. Argue with your momma don’t argue with me. And is she advertising her OnlyFans with this outfit??”

Multiple users echoed similar sentiments, suggesting the hug appeared overly intimate. “To be clear… I have a lot of men friends. I have NEVER run my hands through their hair nor have they hugged me with their hands on my waist. EVER,” one person wrote.

Others interpreted the gesture as indicative of a deeper connection. “No friend runs their hands through a man’s hair in what should be a hug of grieving comfort. It shows intimacy beyond platonic. Why is he holding her waist? It’s not normal, it’s actually uncomfortable to see,” another user stated.

Critics also took issue with Erika Kirk’s outfit during the event. Dressed in tight black leather, she faced comments questioning her mourning attire following her husband’s recent death. “Nothing says grieving like skin-tight black leather,” one user quipped. Another added, “How does MAGA support this? I know they don’t care about Usha because she’s Indian, but what about Charlie? What would his parents think? His widow’s in leather jeans getting cozy with another man weeks after his death. So much for Christianity.”

One user remarked, “Personally, if my husband was recently assassinated, I wouldn’t go on stage wearing skin-tight leather pants and giving another married man an intimate hug. Just saying.”

JD Vance Discusses His Wife’s Faith

During the same event, JD Vance was asked a series of questions by University of Mississippi students. When the topic turned to religion, Vance emphasized the importance of Christian faith, describing it as a crucial foundation of American society.

When a student mentioned his wife Usha’s background, Vance explained that she was raised Hindu but was agnostic when they met. He expressed hope that she might one day embrace Christianity, though he also noted that he would respect her choice if she did not convert, citing free will as a core Christian principle.

Usha Vance did not attend the event and has not commented publicly on her husband’s remarks.
