During an interview, Saba was asked if she would ever consider moving to Karachi. Without hesitation, she replied with “ASTAGHFIRULLAH.” The clip quickly went viral and upset many Karachi residents, who felt the comment was disrespectful.

In response, fellow actress Javeria Saud, a proud Karachiite, shared her thoughts. She replied to Iffat Omar, saying that Karachi is not dirty — instead, it’s the mindset of certain people that needs to change. Javeria added that as someone living in Karachi, she finds the city beautiful and full of life.

The debate spread rapidly on social media. Some users defended Saba Qamar, saying everyone has the right to express their personal opinions about any city. Others agreed with her frustration, pointing out Karachi’s ongoing cleanliness and governance issues.

One user wrote, “I was born and raised in Karachi, but it’s becoming inhabitable due to the filth.” Another said, “Karachiites need to take a stand against their governance to clean up the city.”
