Pakistan Arrests Fisherman Ejaz Mallah Over Espionage Charges for India
Karachi: Pakistani security agencies have arrested a fisherman accused of spying for an Indian intelligence agency.
According to security sources, after the failure of India’s “Operation Sandur,” Indian agencies launched a campaign to defame Pakistan internationally. One such attempt has been foiled by Pakistan’s alert security forces.
Investigations revealed that the Indian intelligence agency tasked a Pakistani fisherman with buying Pakistan Rangers, Navy, and Army uniforms and sending them to India. Security personnel traced the plot and arrested the suspect during an operation.
Authorities had already been monitoring suspicious Indian activities in deep sea waters. The suspect, identified as Ejaz Mallah, was caught while allegedly trying to smuggle military uniforms and other materials to India via boat.
During interrogation, Ejaz confessed that he was a poor fisherman who was arrested by the Indian Coast Guard in September 2025 while fishing. He said Indian agents offered to release him if he agreed to work for them inside Pakistan.
They instructed him to buy military uniforms, name tags, mobile SIM cards, cigarettes, lighters, and Pakistani currency, then deliver them to India by sea. Ejaz said he was paid Rs95,000 in advance and promised more money after completing the task.
Pakistani authorities also recovered voice chats between the fisherman and his Indian handler, proving his link to the Indian agency.
According to the report, Indian intelligence planned to use the Pakistani uniforms and items in a false flag operation to make it appear as though Pakistan was planning terrorist attacks in India.
Security sources said the operation was likely intended to coincide with upcoming state elections in India, aiming to discredit Pakistan.
The uniforms requested — those of the Pakistan Navy and Sindh Rangers — suggest the operation might have targeted coastal areas of Gujarat, Kutch, or Bhuj during Indian military exercises.
Pakistan has collected evidence of the plot and shared it with its international allies to expose India’s malicious agenda and propaganda campaign.
