12 Pakistani Athletes Impress at Istanbul Marathon
Twelve Pakistani runners successfully completed the 42.195-kilometre Istanbul Marathon, earning widespread praise for their determination and impressive performances.
Among them, Mubarez bin Rafi was the fastest Pakistani finisher, completing the race in 3 hours, 21 minutes, and 30 seconds. Mujtaba Ahsan from Islamabad followed closely with a time of 3 hours and 23 minutes, while Ismail Khan, based in Istanbul, secured third place among Pakistanis with 4 hours and 3 minutes.
In the women’s category, Sehar Ali Janjua from Karachi led the way, finishing in 4 hours and 22 minutes. Fellow runner Hina Malik, also from Karachi, achieved a personal best, improving her time by 12 minutes to finish in 4 hours and 49 minutes.
Other Pakistani participants included Umer Rasheed, Zain Ahmed, Kashif Raza, Mehvesh Hanif, Sadaf Saad, and Haziq Khalid, all of whom successfully completed the challenging marathon.
Spectators along the route cheered the runners enthusiastically, shouting “Pakistan Zindabad!” as the athletes passed by in their green national shirts, showcasing Pakistan’s growing presence in international marathons.
