He explained that the 27th Amendment includes provisions for the establishment of a Constitutional Court, appointment of Executive Magistrates, and transfer of judges. It also proposes changes to the NFC Award, which could affect the share of provinces in federal resources.
Bilawal added that the amendment also suggests revisions to Article 243, as well as returning education and population planning matters to the federal government. Another key proposal aims to resolve deadlocks in the appointment of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members.
He announced that the PPP Central Executive Committee (CEC) will meet on November 6 at Bilawal House, Karachi, after President Asif Ali Zardari’s return from Qatar, to decide the party’s official stance on the issue.
The upcoming CEC meeting will also review the overall political situation in the country.
