Israeli Army Faces Severe Shortage of Thousands of Soldiers
Tel Aviv: The Israeli army is facing a major manpower crisis, with officials confirming a shortage of at least 12,000 soldiers, according to a report by Mehr News Agency.
The army said it urgently needs new recruits to support units on active battlefronts, with around 7,000 soldiers required specifically for combat roles.
Military officials admitted that the ongoing war, long operations, and heavy casualties have created a serious shortage of personnel. The prolonged conflict in Gaza has also disrupted Israel’s recruitment system, making it difficult to fill vacant positions.
Reports indicate that many young Israelis are avoiding enlistment due to the worsening security situation and the rising number of deaths in recent months, leading to growing concern within Israel’s defense establishment.
