Aditi Rao Hydari Warns Fans About Fake WhatsApp Account

17 November, 2025 11:23

Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari has issued a warning after discovering that someone has been impersonating her on WhatsApp, reaching out to photographers with fake photoshoot requests.

The 39-year-old actress took to Instagram on Sunday to alert her followers about the scam. She revealed that several people had informed her that an unknown individual was using her photos and messaging photographers for fraudulent “photoshoots.”

In her note, the Heeramandi star wrote, “I wanted to flag something that a few people brought to my notice today. Someone has been pretending to be me on WhatsApp, using my pictures and messaging photographers about ‘photoshoots’.”

She urged everyone to stay vigilant, avoid responding to the number, and report any suspicious activity to her team immediately. She added, “It isn’t me. I don’t reach out like this, and I don’t use any personal number for work. Everything always goes through my team. Please be careful and don’t engage with that number. If you come across anything odd, just let my team know. Thank you to all those who have my back and are so protective and kind.”

Aditi Rao Hydari was last seen in the 2024 series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, where she played the role of Bibbojaan.

Her upcoming projects span films and series, including the Hindi film Parivarik Manu Ranjan, the silent feature Gandhi Talks, the international co-production Lioness, and Imtiaz Ali’s Netflix series O Saathi Re.

This warning underscores the growing issue of celebrity impersonation on social media and messaging platforms, and highlights the importance of reporting suspicious activity to official representatives.
