Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Eetha’ put on hold after on-set injury

Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor faced an unexpected setback during the shoot of her first biopic. She injured her foot while performing a dance sequence on the set of Eetha, a film where she plays famous Tamasha artist Vithabai.

The 38-year-old actress got hurt during a high-energy Lavani dance rehearsal. Lavani is known for fast beats and quick footwork, which made the routine tough even for an experienced performer like her. During one step, she put too much pressure on her left foot and lost balance, which resulted in a fracture.

Shraddha was wearing a heavy Nauvari saree, jewellery, and dancing to an Ajay-Atul track when the accident happened. She had also gained more than 15 kilos for the role, which added extra pressure during the dance.

Even after the injury, Shraddha didn’t want the entire shoot to stop. Instead of resting completely, she asked the team to film close-up and emotional scenes that did not require much movement. The crew shifted to a set in Madh Island, Mumbai, where she continued shooting for a few days. But eventually, the pain increased, and the team had to pause the production.

The filming is expected to start again in about two weeks, once she fully recovers.

Eetha is Shraddha Kapoor’s first biopic, and fans are already excited to see her in this new avatar. She was last seen in the horror-comedy Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank.
