Actress Sonya Hussyn has spoken out in support of rapper Talha Anjum after his heated on-air interaction with TV host Nadia Khan sparked widespread debate on social media.
The incident occurred during a recent interview where Nadia Khan sharply criticized Talha Anjum for raising the Indian flag during a concert in Nepal. The moment quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from the public.
Responding to the circulating clip, Sonya Hussyn took to Instagram to defend the young rapper, calling out the manner in which he was questioned on national television. She wrote, “With all due respect, no artist deserves to be treated like a criminal, least of all on National Television!! Being moved by the audience’s love and expressing it by raising a flag does not make anyone disloyal to their country.”
Sonya praised Talha Anjum’s commitment to his craft, stating, “Talha is a self-made artist who has spent years honing his craft and representing Pakistan with pride on global stages. In a country where you can count true Rap artists on your fingers, the least we can do is honour their dedication instead of diminishing it.”
She further added that the entire discussion could have been handled more respectfully, saying, “No offense but I believe, This conversation could have been conducted with far more grace, understanding, and respect. Love, light & peace.”
The controversy began last week when Talha Anjum, while performing his diss track Kaun Talha—targeting Indian rapper Naezy—wrapped himself in an Indian flag during a show in Kathmandu. The gesture ignited intense conversation online, ultimately leading to the televised confrontation that has now become a national talking point.
