Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua: Netflix Confirms Boxing Showdown “Judgement Day”

22 November, 2025 16:15

In a shocking announcement that has divided the boxing community, YouTuber-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul has officially confirmed he will face former two-time unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

The eight-round professional bout, titled “Judgement Day,” is scheduled for Friday, December 19, in Miami, Florida, and will be streamed live globally on Netflix.

The matchup pits the social media star against a genuine elite heavyweight in what is being considered Paul’s biggest and most dangerous test to date. For Joshua, the fight promises a lucrative payday, though some critics suggest it deviates from his pursuit of another world title.

Both fighters will compete using standard 10-ounce gloves, raising concerns about the size and experience gap between them.

At the introductory press conference, Paul confidently addressed his critics, stating, “This isn’t an AI simulation. This Judgement Day. I think a fourth or fifth-round knockout by me.” Meanwhile, Joshua, returning after a knockout loss in September 2024, vowed an aggressive performance: “Jake or anyone can get this work. No mercy. I’m about to break the internet over Jake Paul’s face.”

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, commented on the clash, acknowledging Paul’s bravery but issuing a warning: “They say be careful what you wish for, kind of feel like that’s all I need to say. Whilst I admire Jake’s balls, he’s going to find out the hard way in Miami.”

The high-stakes fight is expected to attract record-breaking viewership for Netflix, further amplifying global attention on this unconventional yet highly anticipated boxing showdown.
