Three Terrorists Killed as Attack on FC Headquarters in Peshawar Foiled

PESHAWAR — Security forces stopped a major terrorist attack on the Federal Constabulary (FC) Headquarters in Peshawar, killing all three suicide bombers involved. Three FC personnel were also martyred in the incident, according to senior police officials.
Attack on FC Headquarters
Police said the attack began early Monday when three suicide bombers reached the main gate of the FC Headquarters. Peshawar Capital City Police Officer Dr Mian Saeed said one bomber blew himself up at the gate. The other two managed to enter the compound during the chaos.
FC personnel immediately returned fire. The two attackers inside the premises were killed after a brief gun battle. Dr Saeed said the quick action by the security staff helped stop a much bigger tragedy.
Casualties and Injuries
According to hospital officials, five people were injured in the attack. The injured include two FC personnel. Three FC members lost their lives while trying to stop the attackers.
Deputy Commandant of the Federal Constabulary Javed Iqbal confirmed the deaths of all three terrorists. He said a detailed search was being carried out inside the FC Headquarters to clear the area and check for any hidden threats.
Security Measures in the Area
Police blocked the Saddar area soon after the first blast. Traffic was diverted to alternate routes. Heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies reached the location and started a search operation around the headquarters.
Officials said that more updates would be shared after the clearance operation ends.
