The Federal Interior Secretary has approved the resignations of four officials in connection with the case involving well-known YouTuber Ducky Bhai, with the resignations taking effect from November 20.
According to official sources, the officers who stepped down were serving with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). Those whose resignations were accepted include Deputy Director Sarfraz Chaudhry, Assistant Director Muhammad Usman, Assistant Director Shoaib Riaz, and Assistant Director Asma Majeed.
The development follows last month’s arrests of several NCCIA officials over allegations of accepting bribes from Ducky Bhai and other social media influencers. After the arrests, the implicated officers submitted their resignations.
A report by the Anti-Corruption Circle Lahore revealed that corruption cases were registered against eight NCCIA officers in total. The accused officials included an additional director, a deputy director, assistant directors and sub-inspectors, all of whom were named in registered cases related to the scandal.
The case has drawn significant attention, raising serious questions about accountability and oversight within cybercrime enforcement agencies.
