Prashant Tamang’s Wife Geeta Reveals What Really Happened Before His Death

Actor and singer Prashant Tamang passed away at the age of 43 on January 11, 2026, leaving the Indian entertainment industry in mourning. His sudden demise has shocked fans, colleagues, and admirers who followed his inspiring journey from Indian Idol Season 3 to acclaimed performances, including his role in Paatal Lok Season 2. Breaking her silence, Prashant Tamang’s wife, Geeta Thapa, shared details about his passing in an interview with ANI on January 11, 2026. She revealed that the actor-singer died peacefully in his sleep at their residence in Janakpuri, New Delhi, and confirmed that the cause of death was “natural”. Her statement came amid speculation, as many had noted that Tamang appeared to be in good health just days earlier.

According to police officials, Geeta rushed her husband to Mata Chanan Devi Hospital, where doctors declared him “dead on arrival”. She remained by his side during his final moments at the hospital. Speaking to ANI, Geeta said, “It was a natural death. He was in his sleep when he left us. I was right beside him at that time.”

Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming response from fans worldwide, Geeta shared that she has been receiving messages, calls, and flowers from people across the globe. Many admirers gathered outside their home and the hospital to pay their final respects. Thanking everyone for their support, she urged fans to remember Prashant with love and dignity, saying, “Thank you to everyone. I’ve been receiving calls from all over the world… please love him as you have loved him earlier. He was a great soul, he was a great human. I hope you remember him like that.”

Geeta Thapa, a flight attendant by profession, has largely stayed away from the limelight. The couple reportedly met on an international flight when Prashant was travelling for a musical tour. Their friendship gradually turned into a relationship, and they married in a private ceremony on February 16, 2011. The couple welcomed their daughter, Ariah, in 2022. She was just three years old at the time of her father’s passing.
