“I Am Trapped”—Heartbreaking Voice Message Surfaces From Gul Plaza Blaze

An audio recording from within Gul Plaza on M.A. Jinnah Road, Karachi, has surfaced, capturing the anguish of a man trapped during the horrific fire. In the recording, the individual claims he is unable to find an exit due to the intensity of the flames.

According to Rescue 1122 personnel, search teams were finally able to enter the charred building to look for survivors and victims while the cooling process remained ongoing. Police have confirmed that the whereabouts of 26 people inside the plaza have been located, though the situation remains dire. Meanwhile, the families of those trapped stand outside in a state of fear and helplessness; authorities report that relatives of 59 missing persons have already made contact to provide mobile numbers and identification details.

News sources obtained the audio message sent by the trapped individual following the outbreak of the blaze. In the recording, the man says:

“Assalam-o-Alaikum, I am trapped in Gul Plaza from all sides. There is a very dangerous fire, and it has become extremely difficult for me to get out. If I have made any mistake or been negligent, please forgive me.”

The recording also features the voices of other confined individuals. As the first man speaks, another can be heard shouting “Ya Allah” while inciting the group to smash through a door in a desperate attempt to escape.
