NADRA launches new identity data monitoring app
LAHORE: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a new Identity Data Monitoring App to give citizens better control over their personal identification information.
With this app, users can monitor the use of their national ID data, see a full history of verifications, including which institutions accessed their data, for what purpose, and at what time. This initiative aims to enhance data security and reduce the risk of identity theft.
NADRA has also introduced self-service counters at its mega centre in Faisalabad. Citizens can now apply for ID cards, B-Form renewals, and replacements on their own, reducing wait times and making the process quicker. These counters are located at Gateway Chowk, Satyana Road, and near McDonald’s in Battala Colony.
In addition, starting 20 January 2026, NADRA will issue facial recognition-based biometric verification certificates for citizens whose fingerprints cannot be verified. For a nominal fee of Rs 20, the certificate will include the citizen’s photo, CNIC number, name, father’s name, a tracking ID, and a QR code. The certificate is valid for seven days and can be used for verification at the required institution.
In the future, these facial image-based certificates will also be available through NADRA’s e-Sahulat franchises and the Pak-ID application, making digital ID verification even more accessible for all citizens.
