Influencer Amulya Rattan Responds to Viral ‘Civic Sense’ Video After Facing Heavy Online Trolling

Influencer Amulya Rattan has addressed the backlash following her viral ‘civic sense’ video, where she confronted a man for interrupting her shoot in a public area. The clip, which quickly went viral, drew widespread criticism and trolling, sparking debates on online behaviour and public space etiquette.

In the original video, Rattan expressed her frustration, saying, “Zero sense hai, zero. Someone is filming a video, just go in between. Where is civic sense?” She added that it upset her that the man “didn’t even say sorry.”

Following the online uproar, Rattan posted a detailed Instagram video clarifying the situation. She stated, “Hi guys, one of our videos is being circulated on the internet, and I think it’s been taken out of context. So let me give you my side of the story of what exactly happened that day.” She explained that she was filming a simple outfit check and had already relocated several times to avoid disturbing others.

Rattan added that a group of men had been staring at her, making her uncomfortable, which forced her to move again. Reflecting on the incident, she said, “My choice of words could have been better, and I genuinely take that as a learning,” and apologised, saying, “I’m really sorry agar kisi ke sentiments hurt huye ho toh.” She also emphasised that abusive messages were unacceptable, asking, “Do I deserve that?”
