Imran Khan’s Health Not as Serious as Being Portrayed, Says Mahmood Achakzai

Islamabad, January 31, 2026 — Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, has said that former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s health is not as bad as it is being claimed.

He said he was making this statement responsibly and with full confidence.

Speaking to the media after a joint meeting of the Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Ain Pakistan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Political Committee, Achakzai said that reports about Imran Khan’s illness began spreading soon after protests were announced.

According to him, these claims were meant to create confusion among party workers and weaken the political movement.

Mahmood Achakzai said his party has no personal hostility toward anyone.

However, he stressed that the real issue is the deliberate attempt to divert the political struggle from its original purpose.

He said the struggle is not about individuals. It is about principles, democracy, and the Constitution.

The opposition leader said his demands are very clear.

He stated that Pakistan needs an independent Election Commission and transparent general elections.

According to him, restoring the democratic process is the only solution to the country’s current political problems.

Achakzai urged state institutions to operate within constitutional boundaries.

He said Pakistan’s improvement and reconstruction are only possible through the supremacy of the Constitution.

His remarks came at a time when various claims about Imran Khan’s health are circulating widely on political platforms and social media.
