Grammy Awards 2026: All About the Nominees and Why Taylor Swift Isn’t Competing
The 68th annual Grammy Awards are set to take place tonight at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Music fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the ceremony, which will celebrate the best recordings released between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025.
This year marks the first Grammys in over a decade without Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, or Adele in contention. However, artists like Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, and Bad Bunny are leading the nominations, with Kendrick Lamar topping the list with nine nods.
Why Taylor Swift Isn’t Nominated
“Taylor Swift’s Life of a Showgirl was released on October 3, 2025, which falls outside the eligibility period for this year’s Grammys,” explained the Recording Academy.
“To be considered for a 2026 Grammy, records had to be released between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025. This is why Swift does not appear on this year’s nomination list.”
