Pakistan and Kazakhstan have exchanged Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance cooperation across several sectors, including mining and petroleum, maritime affairs, customs, railways, transit trade, plant protection, veterinary sciences, artificial intelligence, and digital development.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a joint declaration during a formal ceremony in Islamabad. In addition to the sectoral MoUs, the two nations exchanged agreements regarding UN peacekeepers and the transfer of prisoners.

The signing was preceded by an official reception at the Prime Minister’s House. Upon his arrival, President Tokayev was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Sharif, and the two leaders shared pleasantries. The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of both countries, followed by a guard of honor presented by a smartly turned-out contingent.

During the event, President Tokayev introduced his delegation to the Prime Minister. The president arrived in Pakistan yesterday for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
