Afghan Taliban calls for ‘dialogue’ after deadly conflict with Pakistan

Afghanistan’s government said on Friday (February 27) that it wants “dialogue” to resolve its conflict with neighboring Pakistan after recent deadly fighting.

Speaking at a news conference, Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the country prefers a peaceful solution to the issue.

“We have repeatedly emphasised a peaceful solution, and still want the problem to be resolved through dialogue,” Mujahid stated.

His comments came after tensions and clashes between the two neighboring countries. Afghanistan says it is ready to talk and hopes the situation can be settled through discussions instead of further conflict.
