Rubio Warns Iran Over Ballistic Missile Development
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio briefed reporters in Washington today, emphasizing that a country like Iran must not be permitted to possess advanced missile technology. He stated that the primary objective of current operations is to prevent Tehran from further developing its ballistic missile capabilities. Secretary Rubio characterized the Iranian regime as being at its “weakest moment,” noting that the recent escalation has already resulted in mass casualties within the country.
Expressing a hardline stance on the future of the region, the Secretary stated his hope that the Iranian people would eventually overthrow the current government. He alleged that Iran continues to produce 100 missiles every month and is intentionally targeting non-military sites within Gulf countries. Rubio concluded by reiterating that the initial waves of conflict have caused significant loss of life, reinforcing the urgency of the U.S. position.
