Political scientist says Trump, Netanyahu could face execution for war crimes

A well-known American political scientist has strongly criticized Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu over the ongoing conflict with Iran.

John Mearsheimer made the comments during a podcast shared on social media. He said, “If there were Nuremberg trials where the Israelis and the Americans were brought before the court, President Trump along with … Netanyahu and many of their advisors would be hanged.”

He was referring to the famous trials held after World War II, where Nazi leaders were prosecuted for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Mearsheimer also criticized the United States and Israel for what he described as attacks on Iran without any clear reason. He said, “We did not even made any attempt to argue that the Iranians had done something militarily to precipitate our attack on Iran.”

He further accused both countries of targeting leaders and carrying out what he called a destructive war in Gaza.

The latest conflict started on February 28, when the US and Israel launched airstrikes on Iran. According to reports, these strikes killed senior Iranian officials and hit important facilities, along with civilian areas like schools, hospitals, and airports.

In response, Iran has been launching regular missile and drone attacks on Israeli positions and US military bases in the region.
