US Embassy in Islamabad Celebrates 250 Years of American Freedom
On Saturday, The US Mission in Pakistan hosted a landmark Freedom 250 celebration to honor two and a half centuries of American democracy and to highlight the strong relationship between the United States and Pakistan.
The event is part of a year-long program ahead of America’s 250th Independence anniversary, display lose ties between the two both countries.
People from various sectors in Pakistan, including officials, business leaders, academics, civil society members, and cultural personalities from Pakistan.
Speaking at the event, Natalie Baker, US Charge d’Affaires, said Freedom 250 is a celebration of American history as well as the shared values of freedom, democracy, and strong ties between the US and Pakistan.
She added that, nearly 80-year-long friendship between the two nations will continue to strengthen over time.
It also included performances by the US Marine Corps Colour Guard, the national anthems of the US and Pakistan, and music by the US Air Force Central Command Band along with Bilal Saeed.
The event ended with fireworks show and light up the Islamabad sky, signifying hope and continued cooperation between the two countries.
Freedom 250 is a global series of events organized by US missions to mark 250 years since the signing of the US Declaration of Independence.
