Kabul’s Hidden Deal? Evidence of Taliban’s VIP Hospitality for Fitna al-Khawarij Comes to Light

Reports have surfaced alleging that evidence of VIP hospitality for members of a militant group in Kabul has once again raised concerns about the situation in Afghanistan.

According to claims circulating in Afghan media, images have gone viral showing individuals linked to the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group staying at a luxury five-star hotel in Kabul, reportedly the Intercontinental Hotel.

The images allegedly show armed group members in a relaxed environment near a swimming pool, as well as taking part in lavish gatherings inside the hotel. Some reports also claim that senior figures associated with the group, including commanders identified as Sadar Hayat (also known as Abu Sufyan) and Commander Jalali, were present.

Other individuals, including Rahbar Waziristani and Commander Ghazi, are also reported to have been seen at the same facility, according to media claims.

Some sources further allege that the hotel hosted high-end arrangements for guests, including entertainment and luxury-style events.

Security and defence analysts quoted in reports say the presence of such individuals in a high-security hotel raises serious questions about how they were able to access and stay in such facilities.

They argue that such incidents, if confirmed, may indicate gaps in control over militant networks operating in the region.

International affairs observers say that if Afghan territory continues to be used by armed groups, it could increase regional tensions and complicate relations with neighbouring countries.

However, these claims are based on circulating reports and have not been independently verified by international authorities.
