Iran Vows Legal Action Over Alleged US Attack on IRIS Dena

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said Tehran will pursue legal and political action over what it describes as a US attack on the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena. Speaking after visiting an exhibition honoring sailors who were killed, Araghchi said Iran would use all available international legal and diplomatic channels to address the incident.
Araghchi condemned the reported strike as a war crime, claiming the vessel was operating hundreds of kilometers away from the conflict zone on a routine training and ceremonial mission when it was allegedly targeted without warning by a US submarine. He said the ship was unarmed at the time of the incident.
According to Araghchi, the attack killed 104 sailors and represented what he described as an act against a defenseless vessel. His remarks reflect Iran’s official position regarding the reported incident. Independent verification of the claims, including the circumstances of the alleged attack and casualty figures, has not been established.
