Electricity Tariff Increased by 34 Paisa Per Unit for Consumers Nationwide

Electricity consumers across Pakistan, including Karachi, have received an additional financial burden as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) approved an increase of 34 paisa per unit in electricity prices.

According to a notification issued by NEPRA, the increase has been made under the monthly fuel adjustment mechanism for May 2026. The adjustment will also be applicable to consumers of K-Electric.

The revised tariff will be reflected in electricity bills issued during July, according to the notification. The increase is part of the monthly adjustment process used to account for changes in power generation costs.
