Khalil al-Hayya Elected Head of Hamas Political Bureau

Hamas has announced the appointment of Dr. Khalil al-Hayya as the movement’s new leader. According to the group’s statement, al-Hayya has been elected as the new head of Hamas’ Political Bureau.

Al-Hayya, a senior Hamas official, assumes the movement’s top political position at a time of continued regional tensions and ongoing developments involving the Palestinian group.

The still on-going attacks by the Israeli forces killed dozens of citizens last week, Hamas newly elected leader vowed to response to Israeli brutality.
