Israeli Strike Kills Five Members of Palestinian Family in Gaza City

An Israeli strike on a residential apartment in northwest Gaza City killed five members of a Palestinian family, including three children and their parents, according to Gaza’s civil defense agency. The agency said the family’s only surviving child was not inside the house at the time of the attack.

Civil defence spokesperson Mahmoud Basal confirmed that the child was the sole survivor of the family. Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital also confirmed receiving the bodies of the five victims following the strike.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 1,150 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the US-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect last October. The continued casualties have raised concerns over the fragile truce and the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
