JD Vance Says Keeping Oil Prices Low Is US Top Goal in Iran Conflict

US Vice President JD Vance has said that keeping oil and gas prices low for Americans is the top priority for the United States during the ongoing war with Iran.

Speaking to Fox News, Vance said oil prices are now much lower than they were in the early days of the conflict. He added that the US is working to keep energy prices under control.

Vance said the government’s first goal during the war is to make sure oil and gas remain affordable for American consumers. He explained that higher energy prices could put pressure on US households and the wider economy.

According to Vance, the second major priority is making sure that Iran never obtains nuclear weapons.

“We’re trying to keep energy prices down while also making sure Iran can never get a nuclear weapon,” Vance said.

His comments come as the war and tensions between the US and Iran have put pressure on global energy markets. The situation around the Strait of Hormuz is also being closely watched because of its importance to international oil and gas supplies.

Oil prices saw major fluctuations during the early stage of the conflict. However, Vance said prices have now fallen significantly from their initial highs.
