US Congresswoman Delia Ramirez Condemns Iran Strikes, Says Bombs Are Killing Women and Children

WASHINGTON: US Congresswoman Delia Ramirez has strongly criticised the ongoing American military operations against Iran, saying US bombs are killing innocent women and children and calling for an end to the expanding conflict.

According to foreign media reports, Ramirez urged Congress to pass the “Block the Bombs Act”, arguing that lawmakers must reclaim their constitutional authority and help bring what she described as an endless war to an end.

In a statement posted on X, Ramirez said American weapons were taking the lives of innocent women and children in multiple conflict zones, including Palestine and Iran.

She also criticised President Donald Trump and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth over the continued military campaign.

Ramirez said Congress could no longer remain silent over what she described as war crimes committed under the administration’s military policies.

The congresswoman’s comments come amid renewed military tensions involving the United States and Iran, with Washington carrying out strikes against targets inside Iran while Tehran has launched retaliatory attacks against US military positions in the region.

Her call for the “Block the Bombs Act” reflects growing opposition among some members of Congress to continued US military operations and the use of American weapons in overseas conflicts.

Ramirez has previously advocated for stronger congressional oversight of presidential war powers and greater restrictions on US military involvement abroad.

The latest criticism adds to an increasingly divisive debate in Washington over the costs, legality and humanitarian consequences of the US military campaign against Iran.
