South Punjab Resident Calls for New Provinces and Fair Resources

Residents of South Punjab, including Multan, have called for the creation of new provinces to improve administration and ensure a fair distribution of resources.

Citizens said that public issues can be resolved more quickly when powers and resources are transferred to the local level through new provinces.

They said a strong local government system, genuine devolution of powers and a better administrative structure are essential for balanced development.

According to residents, the creation of new provinces would improve access to government services and help resolve people’s everyday problems.

They said new administrative units could bring jobs, healthcare, education, roads and other basic facilities closer to the people.

Citizens also believe that new provinces would reduce administrative distances, improve representation of less-developed areas and speed up development projects.

They said the purpose of creating new provinces should not be limited to changing boundaries, but should focus on bringing powers, resources and development opportunities closer to the people.

Residents added that smaller provinces could create more opportunities for education, healthcare and business across all regions.
