Moscow Fashion Week Showcases New Talent and Regional Designers
Moscow Fashion Week opened at the Manege on September 26 with a packed schedule featuring emerging designers, established labels and fashion talent from different parts of Russia.
The opening day lasted nearly 10 hours, with runway shows taking place across three halls. Presentations followed each other about every 30 minutes, keeping the venue busy throughout the day.
The programme began with a joint presentation by Universal University and the British Higher School of Art and Design, followed by the Academy of Branding and Design “Metrics”. Their participation highlighted the event’s focus on young and upcoming designers.
Organisers said they received 1,047 applications from 63 Russian regions for this season, with almost half coming from debut brands. Designers from cities including Alushta, Veliky Ustyug, Iskitim and Abakan were among the first-time applicants.
The runway also featured designers from different regions. Tatiana Kotova represented Chelyabinsk, while Stas Lopatkin and Ianis Chamalidy brought fashion from St. Petersburg. Inniki represented Yakutia.
Alongside the runway shows, a Pop-Up Shop on Level -2 featured clothing, footwear and accessories from nearly 100 Russian brands.
The opening day also included lectures covering fashion education, technology, business and career opportunities, making the event more than just a series of runway shows.
