Abbasi moves ECP to register new party

Former PML-N leader and prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has approached the Election Commission of Pakistan for the registration of a new political party.

Abbasi submitted information for registration of political party with the ECP.

The former prime minister provided all required documents to Election Commission. According to the Election Act 2017, the political party is being registered, Abbasi said.

The former PML-N leader will contest the next general elections under the new political party.

Last month, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had announced to form a new political party, emphasizing that we have to stop calling each other corrupt.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, talking about the current political situation, said that political parties are not talking about the country’s problems. Forming a new party because other political parties are not serious about resolution of problems being faced by masses, the former prime minister said.

Even during the recent elections there was no discussion on the issues, he added.

The former prime minister further said that political parties are talking about national issues. We all have to stop calling each other corrupt.

Speaking to the media, he said that the February 8 election has become such a controversial election that it will harm the country because when people lose confidence in the system, then there is only harm.
